This past week I traveled to Norway with a group of incredibly talented pet photographers, and it is an experience I will never forget. The scenery alone was inspiring, but what truly made the trip so meaningful was the group of women I was with.
Sarah @dogtographer.la, Katie @villfoto, Jennifer @crystalcoastdog, Joanne @fivefreedomsphotograpy, Jess @petprojectbyjess, and Alexis @doghausphotography are each remarkable in their own way. Every day brought new lessons, not just in photography but also in how to grow as an artist and as a business owner.

I came away with sharper skills in composition, learning how to use location and light more intentionally to create stronger images. Editing was another big focus, and I picked up new approaches to make colors feel natural and true to life while still highlighting each pet’s unique character. On the business side, I gained insight into streamlining processes, creating more meaningful client experiences, and building long-term sustainability in a creative career.

Beyond the lessons, what stood out most was the openness of this group. Everyone shared their ideas and feedback without hesitation, and that generosity is what made this trip so powerful. What started as a gathering of colleagues turned into something deeper. I left Norway not only with new tools and fresh inspiration but with friendships that I know will last.

We are already talking about future trips together, and I cannot wait to see where those adventures take us. This trip pushed me in ways that will stay with me for a long time, and I am coming home with both growth and gratitude.

Oh my goodness, SO FUN!
