As a Wilmington pet photographer, a large part of my year is spent supporting adoptable pets through our Seen & Saved initiative, using photography to help animals connect with the families looking for them.
This last Foster Photo Day brought together pets from multiple rescues, each one stepping into the studio with their own personality, story, and hope for what comes next.
Foster Photo Day with Wilmington Area Rescues
During this Foster Photo Day, we photographed 17 adoptable pets from six different rescues: Wagon Tails Farm Rescue, Long Road Home, All4Cats, Hamilton’s Healing Hearts, Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue, and Russell Rescue of the Carolinas.
The studio had a steady rhythm all day. Every session was different, but the goal stayed the same. Create images that show who these pets really are and help potential adopters feel that connection before they ever meet in person.
What Adoption Photography Looks Like Behind the Scenes
Photographing adoptable pets is not just about the final image. These sessions represent long days of me crawling on the floors, constant movement, pockets full of treats, and sore muscles by the end of it. They also represent trust. Trust from the rescues, the fosters, and the pets themselves.
Some animals jump right in. Others need time, and that's okay. We take our time to help them show their personality because each photo is another chance for a pet to be noticed by the right person at the right time.
Sponsored Through Seen & Saved
This Foster Photo Day was made possible through our Seen & Saved sponsorship program and generously sponsored by Sole Fitness. Through her support, we were able to offer these sessions at no cost to the rescues and fosters involved.
As part of the sponsorship, we will be partnering together on a future pop up event at her gym. These partnerships allow Seen & Saved to continue growing while keeping the focus on adoptable pets in Wilmington and surrounding counties.
Sole Fitness is also offering five group fitness classes for $50 (message her through her instagram page to get this deal)
Supporting Adoptable Pets in Wilmington
Foster Photo Day is just one part of the Seen & Saved initiative. Throughout the year, this work extends into shelters, rescues, and community partnerships across New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties. Each session adds another face to the list of pets waiting for their next chapter.
As we head into 2026, the goal stays simple. Keep showing up. Keep photographing. Keep helping pets get seen and saved.
If you are interested in supporting Seen & Saved through sponsorship, fostering, or sharing these pets with your community, I would love to connect.
